Education Department of Assam officially announced the Assam TET Examination Syllabus for the year 2019. The structure of TET examination is mentioned below-

Structure of TET Examination 2019:
There are two papers of Assam TET examination.
Paper I is for those who are intending to become a teacher at Primary Level (LP). It is from class I to class V.
Paper II is for them who are intending to become a teacher at Upper Primary Level (UP). It is from class VI to VII
Syllabus of Paper I (Class- I – V)
a) Child Development and Pedagogy
Marks: 30
Total Questions  from this part – 30 Nos.
Type of questions- Multiple Choice Type (MCQ)

b) Language I- Assamese, Hindi, Bodo, Bengali, Manipuri, Garo, Nepali, Karbi ( any one of these is compulsory)

Marks: 30
Total Questions  from this part – 30 Nos.
Type of questions- Multiple Choice Type (MCQ)

c) Language II – English (Compulsory)


Marks: 30

Total Questions  from this part – 30 Nos.

d)  Mathematics

Marks: 30

e) Environmental Studies

Total questions that will come in Assam TET Examination will be 150 for Lower Primary Level . All questions are as Multiple Choice type questions. Each question will carry 1 mark each and hence the total marks for Paper I will be 150.

Social Studies or Science & Mathematics


a) Child Development and Pedagogy

b) Language I- Assamese, Hindi, Bodo, Bengali, Manipuri, Gaor, Nepali, Karbi ( any one of these is compulsory)

c) Language II – English (Compulsory)

Total questions that will come in Assam TET Examination will be 150 for Lower Primary Level . All questions are as Multiple Choice type questions. Each question will carry 1 mark each and hence the total marks for Paper I will be 150.



No Negative Marking:

For Assam TET 2019, there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Date of Examination:
At first the Education Department of Assam declared 20th October 2019 for conducting the TET examination. But later on it is rescheduled and now the examination will held on 10th November 2019.     Here is the official circular .

Duration of TET Examination:
For both LP and UP level examination the duration of the examination will be total 2½ hours.  (150 minutes). But for visually impaired candidates additional 20 minutes will be provided.


Medium of TET Examination:

The medium of the Assam TET examination is- Assamese, English, Hindi, Bodo and Bengali


Minimum Qualifying marks:
To qualify in Assam TET examination 2019, candidates have to score 60%. For SC/ST (Hills and Plains)/OBC/MOBC/PWD 5% relaxation is given.
Validity of TET Certificate:
As per the guidelines of NCTE, the validity of TET Certificate is seven (7) years from the date of issuing of certificate.
